KAC Call Point Cover
Recently, TwoLet Properties Management Ltd installed several safety measure items in a community centre. There are three manual Call Points in the community centre. On several occasions the Call Points were maliciously activated causing unnecessary panic and inconvenience. Such incident is not unusual. There are measures you can take to eliminate accidental activation of the Call Point alarms. Consider if it is in an appropriate area or in an area where it is prone to accidental activation caused by being hit by other equipment. Could it be protected by fitting a cover over it as a deterrent to potential vandalism and accidental activation?
The KAC Call Point protective cover is made from tough polycarbonate plastic specifically designed to be used with the KAC range of manual call points. It provides a plastic hinged cover which helps to stop accidental activations of the Call Point unit whilst still allowing access to the Call Point in a real fire situation. This KAC Call Point Cover fits on the most common call point installed in Britain today.

Call Point symbol signs
Fire safety signs are often overlooked by business owners but in fact all businesses will need at least 2 signs (a Fire Action Notice, and an Extinguisher ID sign) and quite probably more, to be legally compliant. The provision of Fire Safety Signs must be considered as part of a Fire Risk Assessment.
The Call Point symbol signs come in either rigid plastic or self-adhesive flexible vinyl. The Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996 (the Safety Signs Regulations) implement European Council Directive 92/58/EEC on minimum requirements for the provision of safety signs at work. This guidance is aimed at helping employers meet their responsibilities under these Regulations. The Regulations require employers to use a safety sign where there is a significant risk to health and safety that has not been avoided or controlled by the methods required under other relevant law, provided use of a sign can help reduce the risk. Safety signs are not a substitute for other methods of controlling risks such as engineering controls and safe systems of work.

No Smoking Sign
‘No Smoking Sign’ are part of everyday life because of the smoking ban in place in every public building, and even some public spaces. As an employer it is your responsibility to ensure that signage is clearly displayed to prohibit employees and visitors from smoking in designated areas.
If your company deals with flammable or hazardous substances, it is vitally important that you have no smoking policy in place. Smoking in an area that contains such substances can lead to severe injury, or worse, death. As an employer it is your responsibility to make visitors and staff aware of the non smoking policy.
