In this image you see a rusted and broken Drayton TVR4 Sensing Head. Thermostatic Radiator Valves are commonly referred to as TRVs. These valves allow you to set the temperature that you would like the individual room to be. They do not control the boiler. The main benefit of having TVR’s fitted is one of economic and energy saving grounds.
As TRVs are thermostatically controlled, each room can be set at different temperature. The thermostatically controlled valve will activate and switch the radiator off when the set temperature is reached to prevent overheating.
